Steele Baptist Church

Linda Smith has faithfully served the Steele Baptist Church family for decades with dedication, excellence, and a servant’s heart. She first joined the church staff in 1984 as Steele Baptist Church’s first paid secretary, beginning a ministry that would impact generations. During her first 13 years at Steele, she faithfully served the church before continuing her ministry at First Baptist Church of Pell City and with the St. Clair Baptist Association. In June 2026, Linda returned to Steele Baptist Church as church secretary, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep love for serving God’s people.

A Certified Ministry Assistant, Linda combines professional training with decades of ministry experience. Since 1989, she has also faithfully served as the church pianist, using her musical gifts each week to help lead the congregation in worship.

A native of Gadsden, Alabama, Linda and her husband, Stephen, have been married for 56 years. They have lived on their family farm in Steele since 1979, where they have built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Together they have two children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Linda’s lifelong commitment to Christ, her heart for ministry, and her faithful service continue to be a tremendous blessing to Steele Baptist Church. Whether welcoming visitors, providing administrative support, or accompanying the congregation in worship, she serves with grace, humility, and a genuine desire to honor the Lord.
